According to CinemaDrame News Agency, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television, in collaboration with Alamo Drafthouse, are hosting a series of preview screenings for the second season of the series The Resident. These screenings will take place on April 13 at 10 Alamo Drafthouse locations across the United States, just days before the official finale airs on HBO Max on April 16.
The screenings are organized as events honoring healthcare workers, with current and former healthcare staff especially encouraged to attend, although tickets are also available to the general public. Attendance in the theater is free, but seats are reserved with the purchase of a $10 food and beverage voucher through the Alamo Drafthouse website.
Participating locations include Brooklyn, New York; Seaport Boston; Raleigh, North Carolina; Naples, Florida; Cedars Dallas; Mueller Austin; Westminster Denver; Mountain View San Francisco; Woodbury Twin Cities, Minnesota; and Downtown Los Angeles.
The Resident follows a group of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff at Pittsburgh Trauma Center throughout a single shift. The first season was set during a mass shooting at a music festival, while the second season takes place over the Fourth of July holiday. The cast includes Noah Wyle alongside Patrick Bal, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesan, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Issa Briones, Grant Howell, Shabana Azmi, and Sepideh Moafi.
The series was created by R. Scott Gemmill, who, along with Noah Wyle, John Wells, and Irene Zundel, serves as an executive producer through John Wells Productions, joined by Joe Sachs, Simran Bediwan, and Michael Hirsch. Warner Bros. Television is the studio producing the series.
